I usually hide behind the camera, particularly at the moment. But here I am, in all my glory! This is me. And the reason I have scared you with such an image is that I just wanted to share with you the real me.
I’ve not been able to keep a regular post going on Fuss Free Living recently simply because life got very hectic and time consuming. I’m sure we all know what that feels like.
The above photo has been taken this morning, and I only have two hours sleep last night and the night before. I think this is down to Jasper teething.
So what has been going on?
The school summer holidays went by with a flurry and a smudge of colour. The children, minus Jasper, went away on holiday for the majority of the time. While I stayed at home with Jasper, trying to make sense of the girls bedroom. Trying to upgrade it to a more grown up room.
Usually I take on decorating with great gusto, working every given minute until it’s done, and in the past working so much I gave myself RSI. It hit me though that trying to look after Jasper and decorate is no mean feat and it proved very challenging.
Fortunately with the help of my Mum, (God send) and my husband I managed to get it completed to a state that was satisfactory, although not to my standard. But the girls were tickled pink.
Mr, Jasper and I managed to have a couple of days to ourselves to actually stop the roundabout and watch the world go by. We went to one of our favourite haunts, Lindisfarne. Bliss. Visiting family was also on the agenda, so that was lovely too.
Jasper is now 7 months, almost 8. He started weaning, and has taken to food really well. Although this is my fourth time round, it still seems daunting. I was delighted to get some help from Cow and Gate and have that to share with you in a post soon.
The ups and downs of life have kept me very busy. I tend to feel that life with the girls is getting more difficult, although not altogether dreadful, as they get older. My eldest is now in his final year and is now talking of life away from home. It’s all very challenging for me as a Mother.
Last week I had a tooth extracted after it broke. It was rather unpleasant, and I still do not feel great.
On a slightly different note, I had a friend help me out with some Italian food I had got from Tesco. My children had just gone away when I got the food, so I asked her willing brood to help out. Unfortunately my friend had a riding accident and damaged her left arm rather seriously. She is recovering now I am glad to say, but it has meant a delay with that particular review.
Meanwhile, my brain is ticking away with all kinds of thoughts that I would love to share with you. Not all of it nonsense. I just wish there was a computer that could type what I was dictating or even thinking for that matter. Would make life a lot easier.
