I suspect a lot of people are wondering where our summer is. With flooding and fog it’s hard to believe we’re into July already. Nevertheless the sun still shines and it’s at it’s strongest at this time of year. Along with holidays abroad, we have to remember some very important rules.
Protecting yourself from the dangerous sun rays is imperative. Protecting your children’s delicate skin is, I’d say even more so. So as a Mum of four, including Jasper at five months, I am delighted to find Superdrug do a great range for kids and babies.
The new kids Solait range from Superdrug is designed to protect your children from the sun, even in water, and has moisturising qualities. With a light fragrance of fruity berries, it’s delicate enough for sensitive skin. With that in mind, it’s also suitable for people like me with fair skin.
These sun lotions protect against both UVA (ageing) and UVB (burning) rays.
A new ingredient is Radicare. This is an antioxidant proven to increase the skin’s tolerance to the sun and help protect against long term damage. Along with vitamin E.
In the range there is moisturising sun lotion 200ml 30 spf, kids roll on 75ml 50 spf, and a trigger spray 50 spf. There is also a baby lotion, with a 50 spf which is hypoallergenic and fragrance free.
So with the sun out today, we were able to try out both types of lotion, with help from Neets and Jasper.
Neets used the kids range and Jasper te baby lotion.
Neets verdict was that it smelt lovely, it was nice to put on and she liked that the bottles have a label on them. The label is ideal if you send sun lotion to school with your child, as you can write their name on it. A useful little thing.
As a parent, I was glad the cream was easily absorbed, it wasn’t greasy and she didn’t need a huge amount. I’m also impressed by the protection it offers.
We found the roll on easy to use, and fun too. But Neets preferred the bottle of lotion.
Jasper tried to help.
With Jasper the baby lotion was excellent. Lovely and light, and absorbed quickly and smoothly. No nasty reaction to his skin. Jasper didn’t mind at all. Again, I’m also glad of its properties. Highly protective and safe to use.
I’m really impressed with these products.
The price is reasonable too, but even more so because at the moment they are on offer. Plus with Superdrug you can get points for your beauty card (loyalty points).
Full price (when not on offer): Solait moisturising sun lotion 200ml £7.99, kids roll on 75ml £4.99, Soliat kids trigger sun lotion spray £9.99, Solait baby mositurising sun lotion 100ml £4.99.
Be responsible, look after your skin, look after other’s skin. Use sun lotions.
