Is it September already? How did that happen?
I can’t help feeling that time has cheated me and that somehow the last few months slipped past me without so much as a squeak. I did take a break from blogging and other things, just because sometimes we need to. So I can but apologise, again, for not keeping Fuss Free Living up and running. Hopefully, fingers crossed, this is the start of new things.
I thought last week that winter, or at least Autumn was well on its way. I felt so cold. My coat was buttoned up to my neck and I had my winter boots on. Plus closing the window at night is significant for me. Then yesterday, after Thursday being rain rain and more rain, I was taken aback by just how sunny and warm it was. So today, we’re wearing t-shirts. the outside door is open and I have washing on the line. Nice.
surveying the garden I realise that the grass will need another cut before its winter sabbatical. I can also see flowers. We have two sunflowers, still not opened. Still persisting. We have patio roses. A bright red popper and sea holly.
As far as life goes, Fuss Free Jen has been ironically, far from fuss free. Things with Neets are still quite difficult. We’ve had highs and lows. It’s still ongoing. Rhys, well he grew up all of a sudden. He passed his A-levels and has run off to University. Yes, I am very proud.
Jasper is full of energy. Lucy heading towards some of her own goals. All in all, it’s what keeps me on my toes.
As a parent, it’s a mixed bag of emotions. I am of course very happy to see Rhys go on his way and have the opportunity to do more. That is great. I do however miss him. It’s a selfish parent thing, but it’s inevitable. Seeing my girls grow is also an emotional rollercoaster. They find their own path, even though I’m there pushing them on the way I see fit. But I have to let them wander their own route, it would be unfair to expect anything less. Doesn’t make it easy. Being a parent is a tricky job.
So anyway, let’s get on with this Fuss Free way.
