In an ideal world my bedroom would look something like the above photo. Tidy, clean and liveable. Unfortunately in my case our bedroom is quite the opposite presently. My bedroom used to be my sanctuary, somewhere where I could go to be me, to find my things and feel like it belonged to me. So what went wrong?
Nothing really went wrong, we just had a Jasper and everything changed. It was only the beginning of this year that Jasper gained his own space and we regained ours back. Only we were left with the remains of the chaos that happened. Most of my belongings, treasured and valued things from my marvellous shoe collect, to my baskets of bits and pieces, my books, clothes, handbags and all ended up somehow being boxed up and not quite forgotten about. Basically we needed the space for more important things. But now is the time to think about some bedroom ideas!
I am now left with these treasures waiting to be rehomed and reorganised. Something I do ever so like doing. I just need to find the time.
Our room isn’t particularly large, but we do like making our rooms personal and enjoy putting ideas to good use. Currently we have one wall with black wallpaper, with a pattern of black swans and hearts. Three deep red walls, and a dark purple ceiling. A little unusual, but it works.
Sadly there was an unfortunate accident involving Jasper and the wallpaper. We were unable to repair it. We don’t want to lose the wallpaper, so I’ve been considering how to cover the damage up.
I’m thinking that although I love the wallpaper being the main feature in the room, it is a solid colour, and could easily be added to. With that in mind, I’m thinking of adding something bold to distract from the damage, as well as covering it up.
I adore the bold and vibrant colours in the picture of the woman in the yellow dress. I would love something like this, with the colour in red. The large use of the pictures creates a feature, but also creates space.
We have a wooden picture rail running round our room, so hanging pictures in a line is also an option. I have some wonderful black and white dance photos that need framing, and this would be ideal for them.
I love all things shiny, particularly chrome and silver. Adding little aspects of these can create fine detail and finishing touches.
Love the lamp in the above photo. The shape it creates and of course that it is chrome coloured.
So in short, my head is currently filled with all kinds of wonderful bedroom ideas to work towards, and hopefully soon, we will have our room back.

I love some of these ideas! I’m just in the mist of buying my first home and I seem to be spending hours online looking at gorgeous interiors!
I hope you manage to get your dream bedroom!
