When I was first introduced to OXO I have to admit I wasn’t altogether sure what it was going to be all about. I knew it wasn’t gravy, but I still wasn’t aware of what exactly they are all about. So let me introduce OXO to you.
Over the next couple of weeks I’d like to show you some OXO products, and how I’ve used them and how I’ve found them. I think it’s worth a look see.
OXO is the concept of a man called Sam Farber. His wife Betsey was having difficulty gripping with ordinary kitchen tools due to arthritis in her hands. Sam came out of retirement and took his ideas and designs to a firm called Smart Design. Research from consumers, and Patricia Moore, a gerontologist (The scientific study of the biological, psychological, and sociological phenomena associated with old age and aging.) helped to bring together the ideas for the needs of users.
The first 15 OXO Good Grips kitchen tools were introduced in 1990 to the U.S. market.
Now OXO offer over 850 products for the home. With the idea that they are usable by as many people as possible. Not just specifically for special needs. They also offer a range of excellent baby goods, including feeding bowls and a highchair.
OXO is recognised globally. OXO products have won numerous design awards and are included in the permanent collections of many museums worldwide.
Today, OXO continues to be dedicated to providing innovative solutions that ease everyday tasks.
OXO products are available at many retailers across the UK. I have found them local to me, in a small cookware shop in town, in the garden centre but also in bigger department stores and such like.
