Go anywhere on holiday with chic well fitting swimwear and a few accessories.
I have never been one of those women with a drawer of bikinis and swimwear. One, or two has always seemed enough, even though I’ve realised that I was somewhat lacking in the swimwear department. I detested buying swimsuits as much as I detested buying bras – always more of a saga for the larger of bust.
Last summer after a week boardboarding in Cornwall I realised that the credit card needed to be flexed and that a swimwear upgrade was necessary. It does not really matter what you are wearing under a wetsuit, but I suddenly was bored of my sole and saggy suit and ordered two tankinis with bra sized fitting.
It is a good thing that I did expand my wardrobe as I went off on a press trip to Tahiti at the start of the new year (why can the main clothing shops not have all year round tropical shops for preparing for this type of trip?) and I realised that more frequent exotic travellers than I, lived in bikinis all trip with a cover up or kaftan thrown over the top. I came back and immediately bought a bikini top for one of my tankini sets, as well as a smart cover up dress.
So the three piece bra sized swim suit offers the best of all worlds, and with several sets I have every option thanks to reversible shorts, and halter-neck and regular tops. Bottoms and bikini top for lounging by the pool or for under clothes between swim spots and a tankini top, that hides your tummy for the days that you have had too much dinner the night before. Pair with a pretty sheet cotton coverup dress to take you from pool to pool side bar, a scarf to tie your hair back, fun jewellery, corsage and a huge pair of sunnies.
I’m getting a bit swimwear addicted now.
Many thanks to Simply Be who have a webshop full of curves, for my new Reflex three piece made by Curvy Kate, at just under £100, for a halter neck tankini, standard bikini and shorts.
We received swimwear as a gift from Simply Be. All opinions our own.
How to make me want to drop everything and go shopping now. Stunning swimwear
I am heading for the beach!
Oh I love your choices, especially the tankini! I’ve never had a drawer of swimsuits either. I’ve only always had a couple or so, never a drawer! Haven’t worn a bikini since 2007 and wouldn’t dare wear one now. Maybe it’s time to lose some weight 😉
I think you need to wear it with confidence. And start with a tankini.
I really need some new swimwear I really love the pattern of the costumes above and agree it’s all about dressing it up!
it is all about the accessories.
Ooh I love the look of this! I struggle to find swimwear I really like but I love the pattern and cut of this very much!
You made a great choice, the set is lovely 🙂 I only have 2 costumes as I don’t go to the beach enough to justify it haha x
I had one, and ten was offered a lot more press trips.
Great swimwear! I love the colours and print.
I completely agree that buying swimwear with a larger bust can be a nightmare! For me, it’s a choice between buying something that’s not too expensive (such as from ASOS) and seeing whether or not it holds me in properly, or having to invest in a more expensive, but specialised brand!
Also I particularly like the style of the tankini, the halter top gives it a retro touch!
It is an absolute nightmare. the trick is to find a brand which fits and get several in the sales.
I love that you can use it both as a two and three piece. Great colours, too.
Wow, these sets are gorgeous – love the geometric prints, I bet they’re super flattering on. Amazing.
I love that tankini it is gorgeous. I need to get myself a new one
so comfortable.
I love tankinis for covering my mum tum! Love that it also has the normal bikini top too
I love the adaptability.
I love the print on this. Never thought to look there for swimwear. How lucky were you going to Tahiti on a press trip
I’ve just bought a new swimsuit, it has a great tummy control panel that works wonders! Love the one’s you chose for this post.
I like the colours of this swimwear. I need to buy a new one but as yourself I hate buying swimsuits and bras.
Love how you styled the pieces together and it’s a fab swimwear range.
I think it’s a lot easier to be a bloke when it comes to summer swimwear. I’ve ruled out mankinis and speedos. so it’s swimming shorts. How easy was that? 🙂
There are some stunning shorts around too. so easy to be stylish.
